Spring is here which means cherry blossoms and grad shows. I stopped by CCA’s Oakland campus for their Spring Fair to check out the arts and crafts of their emerging artists. I happened to run intoBrendan Monroe who was sharing a booth with a couple of his friends from CCA.
There was so much fantastic work to look at and the weather was perfect for spending a leisurely amount of time looking at it all. Here are some of the highlights:
Love these illustrations by Michael Manomivibul.
Ran into a few of my former interns from my days as the Associate Gallery Director of Upper Playground’s Fifty24SF Gallery. Ara (L) was there sewing these rings made from bits of mink fur and elastic. She was sweet enough to give me one as a gift. So soft!!
Back to the art…found these beautiful chine colle prints by Gillian Bailey:
Love this print by Imin Yeh. Wood block? Linoleum? Either way, I love the way she renders her figures.
This print by Imin Yeh was part of a series on display in CCA’s Tecoah Bruce Gallery:
It was my idea of the perfect day: great art and great weather!
