Screenprints on canvas by Jesse Hazelip
I stopped by the “Warhol Live” exhibition at the de Young to check out the “Friday Nights at the de Young” event they were hosting. The evening was sponsored by the East Bay Express and Amoeba Music and featured a temporary exhibition of Warhol-inspired art by Bay Area artists. I was a little surprised by the haphazard way in which the work was displayed; I had hoped to see the work actually hanging. Regardless, the event was well-attended, the Velvet Underground cover band was on point, and that Edie Sedgwick look-alike from the “Factory Party” the East Bay Express hosted last month made a guest appearance.
Check out more of Jesse Hazelip’s work here and don’t miss the Warhol Live exhibition which is on display through May. It features the most impressive collection of Warhol’s work I’ve ever seen.
