Tired of seeing a lot of the same old things, I spend a good deal of time scouring the Internet for new and exciting work. Somewhere along my virtual travels I stumbled across these gorgeous pieces by New York artist Cheryl Molnar. Her pieces are reminiscent of urban planning blueprints and renditions of an architect’s concept homes executed in paint and collage.
Here’s a bit from her statement: “Collage, in both its two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms allows me to construct layered landscapes that visually explore pattern, structure and time, as well as nostalgia and other sensibilities created by urban and suburban migration.”
Serious, beautiful, well-crafted work of substance. Exactly the kind of work I love.
