One of my favorite galleries in the US, Kinsey/DesForges, will be hosting a solo show of work by Polish-born painter, Anjelika J. Trojnarski on Saturday, September 12th from 6-9pm. Now residing in Düsseldorf, Trojnarski creates work that is a dark and painterly portrayal of decay and abandonment. Lonely ships are left at port to wither, rot, and age. Broken down amusement park rides settle into a pile of steely wreckage, worn down by the elements. In these paintings, nature has the final say, undoing the work of man and reclaiming the pieces for itself to be returned to the beginning: to the earth.

Thanks for posting, Lainya. Nice wording to capture my art!
Just found you via your comment at artistaday. Pity, that I discovered the blog so late. We were in SF after my opening – we could have met.
Thank you for your kind words Anjelika! I’m sad to have missed you when you were here visiting. I believe we share mutual acquaintances, so it would have been really lovely to meet. Next time!!
