After nearly 20 years, Jack Hanley Gallery will be closing its doors to San Francisco and will continue to operate solely from the New York City location. The final show will feature works by nine of Hanley’s most exceptional artists: Tauba Auerbach, Chris Johanson, and Leslie Shows to name a few. Hanley’s was the hallmark of exceptional programming that offered emerging artists a space in which they could thrive, and that proved that big things could come from such a small city. The show will run through April 28, 2010.
San Francisco Bids Adieu to Jack Hanley Gallery
April 6, 2010 by Lainya Magana
I wish I were there to see this final exhibition!
I just stumbled into this gallery and it’s artist and am sorry to have not known about it sooner.
Can anyone post what other dynamic and skilled galleries might be in town?
Thank you.
I love Triple Base Gallery, 941Geary, Altman Siegel, and Fraenkel Gallery. Any other suggestions out there?
Sorry for the delay, wanted to thank you Lainya for the imput!
