Personal Fav: Yee Jan Bao

I was introduced to Yee Jan Bao’s work a year or two ago at Mark Wolfe Contemporary and I’ve never forgotten it.  I’m particularly drawn to the way the artist takes large objects and events or intriguing human narratives and then depicts them from afar.  As viewers, we are removed from the action through a distant perspective, yet somehow the distance actually illuminates the monumentalilty of the subject matter.
