I’m excited to present my latest curatorial project in connection with Space07 (1421 R St, Sacramento, CA 95814) entitled, “Insert Exclamatory! A seemingly random collection of work thematically connected”. This show opens in Sacramento on Saturday, October 10th and will feature the work of Los Angeles based artist, Michelle Constantine. “Insert Exclamatory!” will include a selection of the artist’s works employing the techniques of quilting, collage, and printmaking. A couple of weeks ago, I went by the Shooting Gallery to check out the opening for Erik Otto‘s new show, “Terrestrial Syndrome”. I was loving the series of sketches on old book covers, screenprints on found wood, and the sentimental flow of line, color, and pattern that Otto does best. For this Argot & Ochre interview, Otto discusses his fascination with found materials and shares some exciting projects he has on the horizon, including being selected for the coveted AIR program at The Dump.
